Leveraging Pedagogy: Virtual Anatomy as a Versatile Adjunct to Modern Anatomy Education
摘要
In this era of rapidly developing virtual anatomy technology, it is a wonderful time to be an anatomist. The changing educational landscape, where institutions are expected to provide blended learning approaches, also provides the opportunity to augment existing curricula by utilizing this technology. Virtual anatomy has the potential to make curricula more inclusive and accessible for diverse learners, from the general public to healthcare students and professionals. However, with the variety of platforms available and limited curriculum time, it can be overwhelming to know where to start. Effective integration of virtual anatomy into existing curricula needs to be grounded in pedagogy to avoid increasing cognitive load, losing engagement, and wasting money on unused resources. This chapter outlines evidence-based, practical pedagogic approaches to help you integrate virtual anatomy into your existing curriculum.
