摘要

Cadmium (Cd) is a hazardous heavy metal found ubiquitously and poses considerable threats to ecological stability and the health of humans, plants, and soils. Therefore, the remediation of Cd contamination is of utmost importance in contemporary fields, and it requires developing sustainable and environmentally friendly solutions. Recently, nanomaterials (NM)-based or nano-enabled technologies have been introduced as effective and eco-friendly strategies for the remediation and immobilization of Cd in soil–plant systems. This book chapter emphasizes the latest advancements and methodologies in NM-based remediation technologies. It also discusses practical applications and provides a theoretical foundation for future research in this field, which will pave the way for improved implementation and understanding of NM-mediated Cd remediation strategies.
