The RNA Interference Pathway
摘要
In plants, the conserved RNA interference (RNAi) pathway plays a pivotal role, functioning as both a robust defense mechanism against pathogens and a fine-tuned regulator of gene expression. RNAi has already shown its outstanding potential for agricultural applications. By engineering RNAi pathways, crop scientists can enhance pest and disease resistance, improve nutritional value, and optimize growth. These phenotypic changes can be attributed to siRNA/miRNA-mediated gene silencing during development.
