This paper presents the results of the analysis of elastic guided wave sensing using three different size Piezoelectric Transducers (PZTs) and one Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) sensor. Piezoelectric transducers are very popular in applications related to elastic wave generation and sensing in Structural Health Monitoring. The FBG sensors utilized in the past for quasi-static strain sensing are more and more utilized in the field of elastic wave sensing. The authors investigated the propagation of guided waves in a thin panel made out of isotropic material. Attention in this research was focused on the sensitivity analysis of different size PZTs and one FBG sensor from the point of view of symmetric and antisymmetric modes sensing.

摘要
