Augmented Reality Storybook for Color-Blind Children: Enhancing Reading Experience

This research provides a ground-breaking approach targeted at meeting the needs of children with color vision deficit by using augmented reality (AR) technology to improve their reading experiences. The developer team used Unity, the Vuforia Engine SDK, and Microsoft Visual Studio to construct an Android-based application designed exclusively for color-blind children. The application's inclusion of color filters helps these children discern between different hues, improving their engagement with storybook content. Collaboration with an eye specialist was an important feature of this project since his experience verified the precision and legitimacy of the applied knowledge about color vision insufficiency. The Likert Scale was used to assess the application's efficacy, efficiency, and user happiness, providing useful information about its impact on the target audience. Adherence to the FURPS framework also guaranteed that factors such as functionality, usability, dependability, performance, and supportability were considered during the development process. The result is a precisely constructed AR storybook application that not only serves its intended purpose but also offers an immersive and accessible reading experience for youngsters with color vision deficit. This project shows how technology may enhance diversity and innovation in learning environments by addressing specific educational and accessibility challenges.
