Novel Approach with AI to Increase Life of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) via FCMA: Fuzzy-C Means Clustering with A-Star Approach

Sensors are battery-operated; this makes energy a critical issue in Sensors Networks. Efficient selection of sensor nodes from Source to Target is of concern because of battery power constraints. In case of multi hop transmission, where energy becomes even more of concern, then deployment of sensor nodes becomes important. In these cases, distance from source to destination also becomes important. Concept of energy has been taken into account in this work and two parameters have been used as; energy left and energy consumed during data transfer. To resolve this issue, this work proposes a combined approach using Fuzzy-C Means clustering with the A-star algorithm. This hybrid method takes care for efficient energy utilization and enhances the network lifespan.
