Chapter 14: Electricity Pricing Mechanisms

As China is the largest developing country in the world and is still in the primary stage of socialism, electricity pricing reform should take into account that electricity should be affordable and that it brings economic and social benefits. Electricity prices should therefore be controlled within a reasonable range, preventing prices that are too low from hindering the use of new energy and avoiding prices that are too high from negatively impacting public services and the competitiveness of the economy.
