Modern Trends of Pharmacotherapy in PsychoNeuroImmunology

The chapter presents new trends in pharmacology and pharmacotherapy in the field of psychoneuroendocrineimmunology. The chapter contains an analysis of data about psychoneuroendocrineimmunoloy mechanisms of diseases and new treatment targets, the involvement of Toll-like receptors (TLR) in the occurrence of PNEI diseases and as therapeutic targets, as well as clinical applications of TLR modulators, relevant antiinflammatory therapeutic strategies in psychoneuroendocrineimmunology and new biological response modifiers. Interesting data about the key role of thymic peptides and neuropeptides as effectors of interaction between the thymusThymus and the neuroendocrine system and promising drugs are presented. The chapter pays special attention to the role of melatoninMelatonin and therapeutic possibilities of application in PNEI diseases, as well as the possibility of increasing the effectiveness of pharmacotherapy using chronotherapy methods.
