Satellite networks are not isolated from the rest of the world but rather they are tightly integrated with the ground networks. In this chapter we will learn how the integration can be technically done and what kind of services and use cases can be supported. You will learn basics of 5G non-terrestrial networking (NTN), future 3-dimensional 6G networks, and dynamic spectrum sharing technologies that enable coexistence of multiple radio systems in the same frequency band.
