Water, Energy, and Food (WEF) Nexus in Developing Economies

This chapter provided an overview of the developing economyDeveloping economy and stated the state of security paradigms of the three resources. Thereafter, the chapter provided a concise overview and perspective on waterWater, energyEnergy, and foodFood resources in developing countries such as ArgentinaArgentina, ChinaChina, NigeriaNigeria, KenyaKenya, and Saudi ArabiaSaudi arabia. Also, relevant research on the WEF nexus within the three countries was cited and summarized to show the nature of research on the WEF nexus. Moreover, the chapter advocated for the adoption of the digital frameworkDigital framework developed in this book, given three developmental lacunae from the five countries, which are the lack of policy insightPolicy insight in terms of populationPopulation growthPopulation growth, the focused-on engineering dynamics of the nexus, and the forced compliance with sustainabilitySustainability from the economy.
