In this work, the secondary abrasive water jet was investigated experimentally. The secondary jet is the deflection of the abrasive water jet in the workpiece engagement. The focus was on analysing the direction and damage potential of the secondary jet when machining an oxide ceramic. To better understand the deflection of the abrasive water jet, the formation of the cutting front was first examined utilising analogy tests on transparent glass material. In the subsequent analysis of the secondary jet direction, a comparison was made between the analogy material and an oxide ceramic. For this purpose, the average exit and opening angles of the secondary jet were evaluated. The investigation of the damage potential of the secondary jet followed this.

摘要
