Contemporary antisemitism is often difficult to recognize as it takes many forms and is frequently difficult to identify as it is hard to distinguish from anti-Zionism. Terms such as genocide and apartheid, used to characterize Israeli policies, are used to fuel anti-Israel sentiments and are often used to characterize Jewish people. Conspiracy theories and replacement theories are easily spread through social media, which is a main force in the spread of antisemitism.
