Global and Socioeconomic Considerations in the Delivery of PE: The Role of Task Shifting
摘要
The psychological treatment of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) has made notable progress over the last three decades (Hamblen et al., 2019). In a review by Schnyder et al. (2017), Edna B. Foa stated that future studies on prolonged exposure (PE) and similar efficacious treatments for PTSD need to explore and develop “effective ways to disseminate and implement our evidence-based treatments into community clinics around the world” (p. 5). In this context, the last decade has had a clear emphasis on matters related to mental health on a global scale (Patel et al., 2018), with mental health, for the first time, being part of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (see target 3.4) to promote health and well-being for all persons across the world (Heymann & Sprague, 2023).
