Concepts of D-STAGING and Stability
摘要
The objective of this chapter is to explain the concepts of staging and stability related to Dysmobility. To explain the staging of Dysmobility, the concept of ‘motor continuum’ is used, proposing that the ten stages of Dysmobility can be understood as part of three key moments in the evolution of motor impairment: pedalism (standing), sedentarism (sitting), and being bed-bound. These three key moments are deeply interrelated. To explain the concept of stability, the concepts of progression, regression, and stabilisation are used, allowing the reader to understand how to define the prognosis of Dysmobility.
