Grossing of Neuro and Ocular Specimens

The brain and the eye are often stressful specimens to handle. These specimens don’t come across the gross bench very often so the lack of experience can be the biggest reason for stress. Taking photographs, knowing CPT codes (see Table 11.1) and consulting the pathologist can be the principal savior with these specimens.
