Prelude to Empirical Parts: Focusing on Exemplary Movements

This prelude provides a framework for two empirical chapters. By looking at “solidarities among transnational movements,” the theoretical themes are grounded on complex (physical-psychical) cases of altruism and sacrifice that entangle “actual-virtual waves” beyond social space–time. Case selections are based on mixed analytical frameworks, such as “effects-based approaches,” “helical applications,” “comparative historiography,” and “multiple correspondence methodology.” Quantum psycho-social research traverses three questions: [I] non-local structural impact of sentimental spheres, [II] indeterminate processual influence of affective movements, and [III] entangled transactive effect of emotional encounters. While tracing long-term trajectories of Turkey-Palestine transnational encounters over the last century, two quantum kind psycho-social patterns are found to transform “solidarity dynamics”: (1) streaming of partisan passions and secularized solidarities across ideologically motivated revolutionary-liberationist movements and (2) flowing of parochial sentiments and sanctified solidarities through theologically inspired redemptive-resistance movements. In the 1965–1975 period, ideologically motivated solidarities were institutionally socialized. However, the radical anti-imperialist spirits of solidarity have failed to generate sufficient sentimental synergies to challenge the neo-colonial foundations. During the 2005–2015 episode, theologically oriented solidarities have been communally socialized at grassroots levels. Nonetheless, activist-resistance movements were overshadowed by local hegemonic forces. Diverse sectarian passions remained far from eliciting transactive resonances to sustain non-colonial coherences.
