Revitalizing Social Fields: Quantal Correspondences Beyond Non-local Conjugations

Classical and quantal variants of field theorizing have opened new frontiers not only in physics, but also in psychology and sociology. Natural and social sciences have been mutually informed by diverse philosophical conceptualization of fields. By combining classic-quantic insights across practical sociology (Pierre Bourdieu), topological psychology (Kurt Lewin), and Jungian psychoanalysis, this chapter reveals the interstices of physical and psychical beyond social fields. The cross-scientific focus on socio-physical spaces and psycho-social habitats provides a productive nexus for international studies and cognate disciplines. The multidimensional comprehension of space–time enables us to process “past, present and future” as entangled extensions or complementary correspondences transforming the physical-psychical compound of social field. This multiplex could be better formalized through non-Cartesian morphologies and non-classical genealogies. For these purposes, pragmatic views and quantic perspectives might be employed in tandem. In this dynamic framework, conjugated correspondences between socio-physical practices and psycho-social potentials could be configured as “non-local” constellations. “Non-locality” of social fields surpasses conventional binaries established across physical-psychical and virtual-actual domains. Non-locally corresponding conjugations encompass conceptual dichotomies like body/soul, cause/effect, conscious/unconscious, heart/mind, matter/meaning, and rational/irrational. Overall, this chapter revitalizes quantum-social dynamics of fields beyond co-extensive transformations of physical vectors and psychical waves.
