Prologue to Theoretical Parts: Concentrating on Quantum Keys

While the current academic tendency leans toward “quantizing” social theory, this chapter advances an alternative path by seeking ways to “pragmatize” phenomenal and experiential insights from quantum researches. Instead of starting from “mechanical” premises of “quantum physics,” this prologue departs from “pragmatist” theoretical propositions cross-fertilizing interdisciplinary investigations beyond natural and social sciences as well as international studies. Rather than just focusing on “quantum mechanics,” the theoretical layout covers “quantum cosmology” in a much more practical manner. The pragmatic philosophical eye helps to capture mixed (socio-physical) phenomena, mingled (psycho-social) experiences, and transversal (classical-quantal) constellations. From this angle, the “social cosmos” could be revealed like a “physical-psychical multiplex” featuring conventional, “classic” phenomena and compound, and “quantic” experiences. The multi-modal implications of scientific philosophy entail combinations between classical and non-classical approaches. Three conceptual chapters relocate theoretical traverses beyond “pragmatic philosophical” and “quantic cosmological” studies. Hybrid (classical-quantal) types of theorizing create cross-cutting synergies for natural and social sciences, as well as arts and humanities. Taking those cross-scientific keys into consideration, three concentric discussions defend a composite case for reassessments on: (1) “social fields” to review “non-local” macro-structures, (2) “virtual movements” to reexamine “indeterminate” meso-level factors, and (3) “complex transactions” to reformulate “entangled” micro-level phenomena.
