Risk management is essential in winemaking, particularly during the bottling process, to ensure product quality and a safe working environment. This study proposes an integrated approach using ELECTRE IV and VIKOR, two Multi-criteria Decision-Making (MCDM) methods, to optimize risk management in winemaking bottling. ELECTRE IV ranks bottling-related risks based on three parameters. On the one side, traditional parameters of severity and occurrence are evaluated. On the other side, the degree of interaction between human workers and machines is introduced as a third parameter, providing a comprehensive understanding of potential risks. VIKOR then selects mitigation interventions for the most critical risks identified through ELECTRE IV. This integrated approach enables winemakers to make informed decisions and enhance risk assessment accuracy and resource allocation while safeguarding product quality and brand reputation. To our knowledge, this is the first application of integrated ELECTRE IV and VIKOR in winemaking bottling for comprehensive risk management. This research provides insights into tailored risk management practices for winemaking bottling as, by adopting this integrated approach, winemakers can effectively identify and mitigate risks, ensuring consistent product quality and a secure working environment.
