Mechanical Aspects of Cardiac Performance
摘要
This chapter is a review of commonly utilized monitoring techniques to assess the relative functioning of the cardiovascular system. Specifically, here we describe means to assess arterial blood pressure, central venous pressure, pulmonary artery pressure, mixed venous oxygen saturation, cardiac output, pressure-volume loops, and Frank-Starling curves. Basic physiological principles underlying cardiac function are also briefly discussed.
