摘要

Adipose tissue is an important endocrine organ, and its dysfunction contributes to a variety of medical conditions, including diabetes, insulin resistance, cardiovascular diseases, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, hypertension, and cancer. Advanced technologies, including single-cell sequencing and multi-omics analyses, such as genomics, transcriptomics, epigenomics, and metabolomics, offer detailed insights into the cellular complexity of adipose tissue. Novel in vivo imaging and visualization techniques have been used to explore the structural specifics of adipose tissue, shedding light on its involvement in various biological processes. Artificial intelligence and machine learning have significant potential for enhancing our understanding of the physiology and disease biology of adipose tissue. Their application has significantly expanded the scope of adipose tissue research. This chapter explores the impact of in vivo imaging, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and single-cell sequencing on adipose tissue research and their clinical implications.
