Regional Socio-Economic Security and Quality of Life of the Rural Population: Assessment Tools and Methods of Ensuring

This study is devoted to the issues of assessing the level of socio-economic security of the region with separate indicators of the standard of living of the rural population of certain regions of Russia. The purpose of the study is to consider the probable links between the standard of living of the rural population and ensuring the economic security of the region. The methods of multidimensional grouping, dynamic research, and comparative analysis were used in the work. Existing scientific research in the field of economic security of regions and factors of socio-economic development was the basis for an assessment of the relationship between the standard of living of the rural population and the socio-economic security of agricultural regions of Russia. As a result, significant correlations between the quality of life of the population and the level of socio-economic security were revealed. Four clusters of agrarian regions were identified according to the level of socio-economic security. For these clusters, integral indices of regional socio-economic security were determined. In addition, the leaders in each of the clusters were highlighted. Moreover, it was revealed that there is no unambiguous direction in the development of socio-economic security of the regions. Finally, measures were formulated to improve the socio-economic security of the region, based on its development specifics. Among such measures, a system for regulating the development of the regional system of socio-economic security and quality of life of the population of rural areas is proposed.
