Ecological and Faunistic Peculiarities of the Kambileevka River Basin

The ecosystem of a river is home to a diverse range of fauna, including various species of hydrobiont communities, amphibiotic and aquatic insects. The health of the river ecosystem depends on the diversity of these species, as each one plays a unique role in maintaining the balance of the ecosystem. The paper deals with the issues of species diversity, ecology and distribution of zoobenthos in the watercourses of the Kambileyevka River basin in Central Caucasus, which is exposed to anthropogenic impact. In the course of cameral processing of the material collected in the Kambileevka River and its tributaries 38 species, 30 genera, 22 families, 12 orders and 8 classes of the main representatives of the fauna of the studied basin were identified. A comparative analysis of the zoobenthos of the basin watercourses was carried out. The coordinates of all surveyed stations were given. The taxonomic weight of the faunal groups collected in the basin was established.
