The Implication of Expected Grades in the Evaluation of Traditional Pedagogical Materials and Gamification
摘要
New technologies and applications facilitate the implementation of new teaching–learning strategies and in particular new ways of implementing games in higher education. These tools enable the assimilation of knowledge more simply, creating a positive experience. In the field of quantitative subjects within social science degrees, students’ negative attitudes towards statistics have been observed, which represents a challenge for the teacher in changing these perceptions. The objective of this work is to evaluate the benefits of gamification, as well as the contribution of this tool to improve motivation and learning. As positive results, we can highlight that most of the students consider it fun and that it represents a good tool for reviewing concepts. It also increases participation during classes and provides immediate feedback to both the student and the teacher. However, it is necessary to consider the student’s profile and redirect gamification activities as required.
