Climate change is an essential topic being discussed by industry leaders, national governments, and international organizations. This is because the impact of climate change has been established to be detrimental to the environment, humans, and other living species. As a result, diverse solutions are proposed to solve this problem. One recommended solution is using technological innovation in the form of Artificial intelligence (AI). Thus, this research explores the following questions: (i) What theories are used to examine the relationship between AI and climate change? (ii) Which AI tools are employed to solve climate change problems? (iii) What are the benefits and disbenefits of using AI to solve climate change problems? Will it lead to more environmental degradation or environmental quality? The outcome of this study will benefit researchers, industry leaders, government parastatals, and international organizations. Finally, policy recommendations are advised based on the results.
