The precision of rainfall observation data is a critical determinant in ensuring the quality of hydrological analyses for diverse applications. It depends on the location, quantity, and pattern of network distribution. Various methodologies, including the rationalization method, have been developed to effectively and efficiently establish network distribution patterns. This research focuses on assessing the rationalization of rainfall stations in the Bedadung Watershed using the WMO (World Meteorological Organization) and Kriging methods. The data used in this research consists of rainfall data for thirteen years from 2004 to 2016 and spatial data in the Bedadung Watershed, located in Jember, East Java Province, Indonesia. The analysis result of the rationalization of the rainfall station network using the WMO method and Kriging indicates that the station network within the Bedadung Watershed is excessively dense. According to the WMO method, only 2 out of 40 rainfall station positions meet the WMO standards, while using the Kriging method, 27 out of 40 rainfall station positions in the Bedadung Watershed are considered suitable.
