摘要

Nanomedicine, a young science is a branch of medicine that involves the creation and application of nano-scale materials for harnessing therapeutic and health-related concerns. This development in the field of nanotechnology and its applications in the field of medicine has gained attention and, thus has emerged as an area of interest for considerable research and development, providing academic and commercial importance. This chapter provides an overview of the major classes of nanomedicines, their sophisticated designs, distinctive properties, and delivery strategies, that offer innovative approaches for the identification, administration, and delivery of medicine with high precision and efficacy. It emphasizes on the in-vitro and in-vivo applications of nanomedicines including high-throughput screening platforms, implants, drug delivery, vaccine research, antimicrobials, diagnostics, and imaging, etc. Towards the conclusion, we present an insight into future challenges, milestones, and limitations, that must be overcome to sustain opportunities, consequently making an impact in biomedical domains.
