摘要

This chapter summarizes the results of the analysis, and discusses their scientific implications. Most importantly, this work shows a correlation between the bump size, \(\omega _{XY}\) , and the slope of the CMAGIC linear region, \(\beta _{XY}\) . This phenomenon can be further linked to spectral features and decline rate. A 1D delayed-detonation model that includes inhomogeneous mixing of at the Si/Ni interface is offered as a physical explanation for the bump feature. Commonly-used light curve fitting templates are checked for reproduction of this feature, and it is shown that the SALT3 template satisfactorily reproduces the relationship between \(\omega _{XY}\) and \(\beta _{XY}\) . Finally, the photometric and spectroscopic parameters derived in this work are used for Type Ia Supernova (SN Ia) standardization; these results are presented as minimized Hubble residuals. These Hubble residuals show that the fraction of the sample with a bump produces a smaller scatter, regardless of whether or not the “bump” and “no bump” SNe are standardized separately. However, it is unclear at this time if this is a result of “bump” SNe Ia being inherently more uniform, or a property of the particular sample used in this work.
