Envisioning General AI in Higher Education: Transforming Learning Paradigms and Pedagogies
摘要
In the rapidly evolving landscape of higher education, the advent of General Artificial Intelligence (AI) presents unprecedented opportunities and formidable challenges. This paper explores the transformative potential of General AI in reshaping learning paradigms and pedagogical frameworks in higher education. By critically examining the current state of AI integration, we identify key areas where General AI could significantly enhance teaching methodologies, learner engagement, and educational outcomes. The paper proposes a conceptual framework that integrates General AI into various facets of higher education, including personalised learning paths, adaptive assessment mechanisms, and the automation of administrative tasks. Drawing on interdisciplinary research, the paper discusses the potential of General AI to foster a more inclusive, adaptive, and personalised learning environment that transcends traditional educational boundaries. Furthermore, the paper addresses the ethical considerations, potential risks, and mitigation strategies essential for the responsible implementation of General AI in educational settings. By synthesising theoretical insights and empirical evidence, we envision a future where General AI catalyses educational innovation, enabling institutions to cater to diverse learning needs and preparing students for a rapidly changing world. This research contributes to the ongoing discourse on integrating advanced AI technologies in education by offering a forward-looking perspective on the roles and impacts of General AI in higher education. It aims to spark dialogue among educators, policymakers, and technologists on crafting collaborative, interdisciplinary strategies to harness the full potential of General AI in enriching learning experiences and pedagogical practices.
