Review and History of Fermi Liquid Theory

In this chapter we review the various approaches to describing Fermi liquids that have been developed over the last century, starting from Landau’s celebrated kinetic equation and moving toward descriptions based on RG and their refinements, and emphasize the strengths and drawbacks of each. This discussion is by no means exhaustive, and we will defer to relevant references for more details.
