Teaching Geography in Brazil
摘要
In this chapter, we present the current scenario and future projections for geographic education in Brazil, from the following perspectives: public education policies and the National Common Curriculum Base (BNCC), teacher education and practices, and research in geography teaching. We emphasize the necessary link between what is planned in the governmental sphere and what is carried out in schools and universities, underscoring the need for closer relations between schools and universities in order to ensure that Brazilian students’ geographic knowledge is significantly fostered.
