Eyelid Adnexal Tumors

Eyelid adnexal tumors are frequent and comprise a large variety of different entities of benign and malignant tumors. Adnexal lesions may arise from hairs and various glands such as eccrine, apocrine, and sebaceous glands which are part of the eyelid anatomy. Overall, benign adnexal lesions of the eyelids are much more frequent than the malignant lesions. In this chapter, cystic lesions, sweat gland tumors, hair follicle tumors, and sebaceous gland tumors are covered including a classification of eyelid adnexal tumors. Besides clinical findings, treatment, follow-up, and prognosis, the histologic features of eyelid adnexal tumors are described. This chapter is richly illustrated providing a clinico-pathological correlation of common adnexal tumors.
