Introducing AI Dialogue and Action Into a TRPG
摘要
This paper describes a method for utilizing a generative AI to automate the behavior of Non-playable characters (NPCs) in Tabletop Role-Playing Games (TRPGs) to reduce the work of Game Masters (GMs). It is a load for the game master to manage NPCs and the game progress at the same time. It may also lead to distraction. We introduce a chatbot that behaves as an NPC and manipulates it to ensure that it aligns with the scenario and does not disclose prohibited information. We conducted an experiment involving a scenario with two players and an AI character. The result demonstrated that the chatbot could support the game without revealing prohibited information. The result conversation was evaluated with the generative AI regarding relevance and human-likeness.
