Japanese Kimono Obi Introduction System
摘要
Japanese people have long cherished the traditional Japanese culture of kimono (traditional Japanese cloth). Although the number of Japanese people wearing kimonos is decreasing, kimonos are gaining popularity among foreigners. Foreign visitors to Japan often rent kimonos at tourist locations or purchase them as souvenirs. Therefore, we believe that a new demand for kimonos can be created by further popularizing kimono culture among foreigners. In this study, we focus on the obi (sash) of a kimono and propose a system that superimposes the kimono obi tying style with its meaning in the real world. Using this system, foreign visitors to Japan can readily experience Japanese kimono culture. We believe that this will promote understanding of Japanese traditions and spark new interest in kimono culture.
