Performance Evaluation of Cuckoo Search for Facility Layout Problem
摘要
The facility layout problem is a longstanding challenge in the realm of operations research, with researchers dedicating many years to unraveling its complexities. The difficulty in finding optimal solutions for various facility layouts often proves to be a daunting task, leading to either insurmountable obstacles or requiring significant effort to obtain a globally optimal solution in a timely manner. One promising approach to addressing this challenge is through the utilization of cuckoo search (CS), a metaheuristic algorithm inspired by the brood parasitism behavior of certain cuckoo species. This study delves into the application of CS to optimize material flow patterns within the facility layout problem, showcasing its superiority over genetic algorithms in producing accurate results within a set number of generations.
