Automatic Matching System for Disaster Victims and Volunteers

Japan is prone to natural disasters due to its geographical location and characteristics. When a large-scale disaster occurs, a disaster volunteer center is opened. Disaster volunteer centers work to identify and organize the needs of victims and coordinate volunteers. However, matching disaster victims and volunteers is currently performed manually, which makes it difficult to provide rapid and effective responses. Thus, this paper proposes an automatic matching system. The proposed system automatically matches volunteers with disaster victims quickly in consideration of the volunteers’ qualifications and experience. By responding quickly to the needs of disaster victims, the proposed system is expected to improve the operation of various relief activities.
