Obesity-Related Cancer and the Impact of Metabolic Surgery
摘要
The prevalence of obesity continues to rise and with it comes obesity-related comorbidities, including cancer. The metabolic benefits of significant weight loss have been well demonstrated in the literature, and metabolic surgery is currently the most effective and durable treatment for obesity and related conditions. What we know about how metabolic surgery and nonsurgical interventions impact obesity-associated cancers is important to highlight. This chapter aims to summarize key studies in the literature on obesity-related cancer outcomes after metabolic surgery and nonsurgical interventions and to highlight how we can continue to improve the quality of research on this important topic.
