Reflux After Bariatric Surgery: Management Options

The complex management of patients with reflux after bariatric surgery requires a study by a multidisciplinary group including gastroenterologists and surgeons. The preoperative evaluation in patients with reflux after bariatric surgery consists of an upper gastrointestinal (UGI) series, esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) with Bravo-pH study, and manometry. The comprehensive evaluation of this condition is important in order to offer all the possible treatment alternatives based on the study results depending on the initial bariatric procedure.
