Single Anastomosis Duodeno-Ileal Bypass with Sleeve Gastrectomy (SADI-S): Indications and Techniques

This chapter describes the single anastomosis duodeno-ileal bypass with sleeve gastrectomy (SADI-S). This relatively new metabolic surgery has most recently increased in popularity after the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders (IFSO) updated its position in 2020; stating that the SADI-S is recognized as an effective operation for substantial weight loss. While standardization and widespread adoption of this procedure are still developing, this chapter further elucidates patient selection and indications for the SADI-S, while also reporting successful techniques thus far.
