Robotics Training: Model-Based Simulation
摘要
Simulation is at the forefront of surgical education and training, especially with the introduction of new technologies in urological surgery at a rapidly expanding pace. However, this technological era of minimally invasive surgery is not accompanied by similar technological advances that enable surgeons to develop sophisticated technical skills and overcome the initial learning curve without exposing patients to unnecessary risks. When available cadavers that were once utilized in the eighteenth century to develop the concepts of modern scientific surgery remain to this day the preferred simulation platform for advanced procedural simulation. The focus has been placed on the design and development of virtual reality, basic task trainers that lack of tissue fidelity together with delayed computation responses that facilitate only basic components of skills training and lack advanced skills.
