Finally, International Recognition
摘要
In its early years, Algerian cinema primarily made its mark through significant contributions to major co-productions like The Battle of Algiers and Z, a notable achievement being the first feature award for Lakhdar-Hamina's Le Vent des Aurès. It was not until the mid-1970s that the spotlight of international recognition began to shine upon Algerian cinema. This acclaim was notably exemplified by The Chronicle of the Years of Embers and Omar Gatlato, which earned, respectively, the Palme d'Or and the Critics’ Prize at the Cannes Festival in 1975 and 1976.
