Justice Lillian Tibatemwa-Ekirikubinza has had a trailblazing legal career, spanning the walls of fame in academia to serving as a Supreme Court Judge in Uganda and as a Justice of the Court of Appeal and Constitutional Court in Seychelles, among other stellar assignments. This chapter begins by analyzing her life and early education. It then transitions to reviewing her career as a law teacher and her transformational process of becoming an ardent fan of accessible justice, which forms the background to her judicial career, her contribution to Ugandan Jurisprudence, and international assignments. The chapter explores Tibatemwa’s struggles earlier on in her judicial career, concluding with how she overcame those challenges.
