Intersectional discrimination, race, gender, class This piece recounts a woman's journey through the horrors of apartheid from her childhood in rural South Africa to ultimately becoming a judge of the High Court and how she worked toward constitutional transformation of marginalized individuals and groups. She examines how intersectionality leads to multiple forms of discrimination—for example, gender, race, sexism, and class intersect—thereby exacerbating the level of discrimination experienced by marginalized individuals or groups.
