Islamic Modus Vivendi: Values of Secure Conduct and Stability
摘要
This chapter assesses the extent to which Islamic doctrines are willing to compromise on the ideal Islamic state, presents three forms of compromise from within Islamic doctrinal tradition and shows that the Islamic doctrinal tradition provides sufficient technical judicial arguments viz. aman, fitnah and maslaha to facilitate Muslims’ compromise with a non-Islamic political authority under politically unfavourable conditions.
