Capacity Planning

In this chapter, we will look at the key considerations when planning capacity to decide what, where, when and how much capacity to add. We will determine how to manage short-term and long-term capacity planning and acquisition, perform capacity calculations and explore the economies and diseconomies of scale that can occur due to increasing capacity. We will explore one case study on how capacity planning concepts and models are applied in a real-world scenario to plan a hospital bed capacity.
