Effect on Physical Strength of Races, 60 Patients, Traditional Regression Versus Regularized Regressions
摘要
The effect on physical strength of races, age and gender was assessed in 60 patients using traditional and regularized regressions. The worst result was obtained by the standardized traditional regression, the best result by the Ridge. The Lasso and the Elastic Net produced equally once a poor and twice a strong correlation between predictor and outcome. The unstandardized traditional regression produced no significant effect of races, but p-values of age and gender were 0.043 and 0.007. The Ridge regularized regression produced strong correlations all the time including that of the races.
