Thoughts on the Meaning of Life

  • Miriam Dolly Arancibia

摘要

Human beings naturally tend to look for pleasurable situations and avoid those that cause pain. However, in times centered on hedonism, some people attempt to eliminate pain even in the wrong ways. The task of searching for the vital sense requires a pause in everyday life. Stop and ask yourself about the why and for what of the acceleration, frivolity, and violence that society projects. In the age of hyper-digitization, human beings find themselves increasingly isolated because they live more hastily in the endless race to satisfy social standards. The attitude one has in the face of pain and the way in which happiness is conceived mark the way in the search for vital meaning. The objective of this chapter is to show existing paths for a deep reflection, and at the same time, to awaken the concern of finding a personal response to one’s own vital sense. From the perspective of transcendental anthropology, pain and happiness acquire a new dimension in order to give solid support to the personal definition of the meaning of life.
