Sustainable Tourism: Rethinking Monitoring Methodologies Through Preliminary Contributions from Neurosciences

The overarching goal of this chapter is to reassess the methodologies employed for monitoring sustainable tourism, utilizing theoretical, and methodological insights emanating from neurosciences as a foundational framework. In an exploratory and descriptive perspective, in addition to identifying the state of the art on the subject, the chapter provides a new agenda for reconsidering sustainable tourism monitoring strategies, taking into account neurosciences. The chapter serves as a compass to enable various stakeholders, including planners, managers, and academics, to envision an innovative trajectory for reimagining this subject, one firmly anchored in ethical precepts.
