Decarbonization in Maritime Sector and Its Path to Sustainability
摘要
In addition to a large number of ecosystem services that coastal environments provide to humanity, they have a great capacity to store and sequester carbon from the atmosphere (Sapkota and White, Science of the Total Environment 701, 2020). These ecosystems can be of various types, namely, mangroves, wetlands, marshes, seagrasses, etc. The carbon stored in these coastal areas is known as blue carbon (Zeng et al., Current Biology 31:1737–1743.e3, 2021).
