Goal-Oriented Modeling of Safety-Critical Systems
摘要
Safety requirements are key elements to Critical Systems. However, it is quite challenging for Requirements Engineers to handle them, and often Safety Engineers do not model adequately the safety requirements derived from their safety analysis. In order to allow the early modeling of safety requirements by both Requirements and Safety Engineers, our objective is to define an approach that integrates a well-accepted Goal Oriented Requirements modeling language, that is fit for safety modeling, with a well-known safety analysis technique. The iStar4Safety and Systems Theoretic Process Analysis (STPA) techniques were chosen as the candidate techniques for alignment. By integrating the two techniques, our proposal will enable a more systematic and comprehensive approach to model early safety requirements. It will enhance the identification and analysis of safety-related concerns, facilitate communication among stakeholders, and support the development of safer and more reliable critical systems.
